Since August, WWF has a new Country Representative in Peru. Now led by Kurt Holle, an acknowledged conservationist and prominent entrepreneur, the global conservation organization seeks to scale up its contribution to the country's transition towards a sustainable and climate resilient future.

For over 25 years, Holle, a forestry engineer, has dedicated to bringing together biodiversity conservation and business, with a focus on sustainability and generating benefits for the local population. He is convinced that, in order to protect nature, people must first enjoy, experience and value it. Along these lines, he has been the founder and director of one of the most renowned ecotourism companies in Peru and today, as the new leader of WWF Peru, he highlights the need for coordinated efforts between the public and private sectors and society as a whole, as key piece to contribute to sustainable development.

"It is an honor to join WWF as Country Representative, and contribute to its mission to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. Today, there are huge risks that endanger our nature, but also great opportunities to generate well-being and growth from its conservation. That is where WWF's work becomes important, because its comprehensive and science-based approach allows us to propose innovative and effective solutions to these demands, " said the new Country Representative of WWF Peru.
